This is really a wonderful work and many other Don Bosco schools who do not have a site should start one.

Being an alumnus of DBPC is perhaps what gives me the greatest pride and most satisfaction. I really loved the place for all of the twelve years I spent there and that affection has not waned in the least since the eight years I have passed out.

To Whom It May Concern:
I would very much appreciate your assistance in obtaining information regarding an artist by the name of Valdes Malkauskas who studied at Salesian College, Venezuela. My father purchased one of his oil paintings years ago in New Brunswick and he would lik
to a) see if the artist is still alive b) and if so, find where he is located c) see if he is still painting d) assess the value of the painting.
The following information is what my father received from the art dealer when he purchased the painting:
Painting: “Retirement – Old Man Walking”
Artist: Valdes Malkauskas
Signed & dated 1969
Medium: Oil, approx. 25 ˝ x 35 ˝
Art Dealer: Gyula Fazekas, Capitol Gallery, Carleton Street, Fredericton, NB
Born: Lithuania, 1939
Studied art at the Salesian College in Venezuela
Immigrated to Canada in 1954, and continued to study art under “Zeran” and other great artists.
He traveled extensively throughout Europe, USA and Canada - and had many showings in London, UK and Toronto.
He was commissioned to do portraits of the VC heroes of the Black Watch Regiment back to, and, including World War 1. Some of his works were/are in the Royal High Regiment Museum, CFB, Gagetown, NB. He was also commissioned to record the Centennial Farewe
l Salute performed by the Artillery Officer’s Club and then awarded the Centennial Medal of Canada for his services.
Any assistance or direction you could provide would be greatly appreciated by my both father and myself.
Thank you and take care.
Sincerely,
Annie McKay

Very interesting to See students from India learning about Don Bosco. I graduated from Don Bosco Technical High School in Boston (USA) in 1986. It is great to see Bosco students doing well on the other side of the world.

I was at Don Bosco School from January 1967 @ Kindergarten (KG was discontinued in 1968) through March 1980 @ Class 12. Quite a veteran, eh?
It would be nice to have write-ups about current and past teachers. Mr. Patrose, who kindled my interest and love of Math! Mrs. Menon, who got me interested in Economics (I had switched from Biology to Economics only to avoid dissection of cockroaches!).
Rodrigues (Roddy) in Class 9 - the most controversial teacher we ever had, was more interested in showing off his English vocabulary than in teaching us English - his vocabulary was fantastic, nevertheless. "I'll give you such a shot, you'll go through th
wall, over the park, over the Hoogly!" and "You're the greatest fool on this side of the Hoogly" were his favorites. He left (or was made to leave) in the middle of the school year. Was rumored to have opened a paan-waala shop in Santragachi!

What happened to the old DBPC Past Pupils site?
Comments:
DBPC is the best school in the world. I am proud to have studied in DBPC, although due to circumstances I had to leave DBPC in class 10 in 1992 and shift to Delhi. I miss school and would love to visit school and meet all the teachers. I would certainly l
ke to be a member of the alumni.
I am very happy to know that the students of DBPC have outshined in all fields. All The Best to all.

Welcome to Don Bosco School India
In light of some of our previous discussions to have a presence on the web, it has become apparent we start somewhere. So I thought a discussion board would be a fabulous way to start.
I put this together to allow people from Don Bosco School, India to join so that we can all keep in touch. It would be a great place for us to share a common interest, activity, relationship, discuss, plan, organize, share information, get things done, an
have fun online. All they have to do to join is go under Schools and Education and then Alumni. It is a public site so open to anyone.
Please feel free to actively promote this community to anyone until we see a lot of traffic.
Now some important information:
The Community's Web Address:
Here is the Web address of our community's home page:
http://beta.communities.msn.com/DONBOSCOSCHOOLINDIA
Managing The Community
I will be the moderator of our newly created community. As manager/moderator, I would be a resource for others who join. In addition, I can customize and control the content, activities, and membership of our community.
I would appreciate your feedback and suggestions.
Enjoy! :)
